This was a special trip for Ray to go back to his old school in Takoradi, reconnect with former volunteer friends and to meet others. Ghana isn’t for everyone, but it was great for us!! We enjoyed the food, the culture and getting to know the locals by going to markets, riding public transit (great STC bus service intercity travel) and walking through the villages.
Accra was a lot of fun for us. The...keep reading

Travel shouldn’t be about chasing the latest “hot” destination, but about finding personally enriching travel experiences that meet your needs. Sometimes traveling away from “what’s hot” makes as much, if not more sense. Be that as it may, we’re often asked what we see as the hot destinations for the new year. So I’ll put on my Karnak hat and venture ...keep reading

We arrived in Capetown, South Africa, via London after almost 24 hours of flight time, tired but well pampered by British Airways. We were greeted and transferred to the Hotel Mount Nelson by our friendly and efficient guide. All of our travel arrangements were handled flawlessly.
The iconic Hotel Mount Nelson is situated within a lush and sprawling garden estate close to the heart of the city. The hotel...keep reading

Off to Botswana, in Southern Africa, and Orient Express Safaris.
In the next 6 days we spent 3 nights at Khwai River Lodge and 2 nights at Eagle Island Camp, Botswana. Both camps are in the Okavango Delta. Accommodations at both were everything we expected from a luxury safari experience. The luxury tents are on permanent raised platforms, offering great views, shaded by a traditional African thatch roof....keep reading

One of our favorite destinations in Southern Africa is Botswana. Because of the importance of the Okavanga Delta as a water source, Botswana offers a varied landscape and exceptional wildlife viewing experiences. You can reach Botswana via a two-hour flight from Johannesburg.
Among our favorites are the three intimate small Orient Express camps. Often we will plan a visit that spends time in each of the camps,...keep reading

Absolutely fantastic trip and we are already plotting our return. We are thinking about going to Africa again in October of 2010, so we will be in touch with you about that. Also we are thinking of another trip to Paris, along with Amsterdam and Brussels next spring.
LONDON – The Cavendish Hotel is a wonderful hotel in a really superb location. Easy walking to Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Picadilly...keep reading

We just returned from the most fantastic trip ever. You arranged a beautiful itinerary for us that was absolutely brilliant.
Let’s start with Emirates Airlines. If that is not the best airline in the world, what is? My gosh, they are absolutely wonderful and now I only want to go places where we can hub through Dubai.
Dubai, what can I say? When we got there the airport meet and greet folks...keep reading

When I received an invitation to travel to Egypt on a Travcoa luxury tour, I jumped at the chance. On a luxury tour travelers don’t have to worry about anything. A great tour operator assures your rooms are in order, your luggage arrives, special requests are confirmed, flight arrangements are reconfirmed, and in some cases, that staff in the hotel and on the tour are properly tipped. A tour operator also...keep reading

A family safari in Africa will be one of the most rewarding and exciting vacations you’ll ever take with your children!
The best place to go on a family safari with young children is South Africa. South Africa, rests at the bottom of the enormous African Continent, it is a land of great diversity and beauty: tropical coastlines and arid deserts; “Big Five” safaris and a first-class infrastructure.
South...keep reading

I have wanted to go on safari in the Southern Parks of Tanzania for a long time and jumped at the chance to visit some of the last true wilderness in East Africa. I flew British Airways to London and then Emirates Air to Dar es Salaam.
The current visa fee for Tanzania is $100 and we were able to get our visa upon arrival at the airport. 90% of the people arriving Dar obtained their visa at the airport. We overnighted...keep reading
