My visit to South Africa this year was to visit some new camps and lodges I haven’t seen before.  I also attended the Africa Tourism conference INDABA in Durban.
Tintswalo Waterfall, Johannesburg,  is about a 30 minute drive from the International Airport and a great property for unwinding from the long flight.  It is located within a gated community which centers…keep reading

Flying into Nairobi at 4am seemed kinda crazy, but it was great….we were met and whisked off to the Norfolk Hotel and in bed by 5am…traffic is nasty in Nairobi so getting in at 4am was a breeze…Norfolk was fabulous after Fairmont did it up beautifully.
Micato Tours, one of the suppliers we use in East Africa,  has a resident liaison…keep reading

We arrived in Capetown, South Africa, via London after almost 24 hours of flight time, tired but well pampered by British Airways. We were greeted and transferred to the Hotel Mount Nelson by our friendly and efficient guide. All of our travel arrangements were handled flawlessly.

The iconic Hotel Mount Nelson is situated within a lush and sprawling garden estate close to…keep reading

Off to Botswana, in Southern Africa, and Orient Express Safaris.
In the next 6 days we spent 3 nights at Khwai River Lodge  and 2 nights at Eagle Island Camp, Botswana. Both camps are in the Okavango Delta. Accommodations at both were everything we expected from a luxury safari experience. The luxury tents are on permanent raised platforms, offering great views, shaded…keep reading
