My visit to South Africa this year was to visit some new camps and lodges I haven’t seen before.  I also attended the Africa Tourism conference INDABA in Durban.
Tintswalo Waterfall, Johannesburg,  is about a 30 minute drive from the International Airport and a great property for unwinding from the long flight.  It is located within a gated community which centers…keep reading

An update on Caribbean hotels while cruising Silverseas

I had the opportunity to sail on Silversea Cruises a couple of years ago in the Baltic and I lhad ooked forward to introducing it to my husband.  I think he said it best … I never want to sail on those “other cruise lines” again.  He was spoiled and loved it!  The ship was lovely with roomy cabins, great…keep reading

When I received an invitation to travel to Egypt on a Travcoa luxury tour, I jumped at the chance.  On a luxury tour travelers don’t have to worry about anything.  A great tour operator assures your rooms are in order, your luggage arrives, special requests are confirmed, flight arrangements are reconfirmed, and in some cases, that staff in the hotel and on…keep reading

On a brief visit to London for three nights, I visited some of the hotels we use and at some of which we extend exclusive benefits for our clients.
The Goring Hotel is near Buckingham Palace.  A family owned hotel, The Goring is your classic English hotel, which I love.  I like to stay in hotels that characterize their country and this…keep reading

I just recently returned from Hawaii.  I haven’t visited Hawaii for quite awhile and I saw many changes and visited several hotels.

I used the preferred supplier we use for our clients, and I liked the fact they have their own VIP line at the Rental Car desk. If you register before you travel you can go directly to your car…

I have wanted to go on safari in the Southern Parks of Tanzania for a long time and jumped at the chance to visit some of the last true wilderness in East Africa. I flew British Airways to London and then Emirates Air to Dar es Salaam.
The current visa fee for Tanzania is $100 and we were able to get…keep reading

Our first camp visit was Jongomero Camp (Selous Safari Camp) in the Ruaha National Park and was delightful. The staff greets you with a song, damp wash cloth and a cool drink after your long drive. The camp is 4-star with excellent food, comfortable tents and great guides.
Following a two night stay at Jongomero we spent our last night in…keep reading

After saying good bye to the Selous we flew to Zanzibar. I could not wait to get here! I have wanted to visit Zanzibar for many years and every time I have visited East Africa I have missed it. Upon arrival we were transferred to the 30-room Mbweni Ruins Hotel (Adventure Camps). The hotel’s clients are primarily European. The hotel…keep reading

After departing Dar a few of us chose to spend a couple of nights in Dubai. We selected the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, reserving “tower rooms,” which included daily breakfast at Mosaico Restaurant, meet and greet service at the airport and round-trip airport transfers. We also contacted our preferred destination operator in Dubai to arrange our tours.
Upon arrival we were met…keep reading
